With our local guide from the day before, we set off from our hotel in Kalabaka for the Monasteries of Meteora on June 27th, 2017. This day kinda threw a wrench in all of our gears. As we had come to explore the ancient religion of Greek mythology, a day dedicated to Christianity felt out of place. Still though, the secluded monasteries in the mountains were nothing if not beautiful. A Marymount professor, but in this case fellow student, Jill Stevenson was able to shed some light on what we were seeing - she specializes in mid-evil history. All in all, this day I mostly came away with beautiful photos, and that's enough.
